The USS Saratoga is a meeting ship, or chapter, based in Region 1 of  STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association.  We are a group of individuals, both family and friends, that enjoy a variety of interests. 

 

Everyone is welcome to cosplay in whatever makes them feel comfortable, we’re not limited to one Trek era. Several of our members enjoy Steampunk, Star Wars, and other genres, too!

  

 The USS Saratoga is group where no one is judged on their race, religion, gender, or orientation.

Do you like games?  A few of our members participate in gaming, either at home or  hosted at local businesses.  Others prefer classic board games, from Scrabble, Taboo, Scene It, and of course, several Star Trek themed ones.  Teaming up to play board games can be a lot of fun!

   

 We also sometimes will have a Science Fiction Movie Night, showing classics as well as more modern films.   We have picnics, cookouts, bowling, camping, trips to renaissance faires, conventions, festivals and more. 

 

Each year we attend Smoky Mountain Fan Fest, where we host a table to promote the group, recruit, and have fun.  Sometimes we do participate in a joint effort with other chapters.  We have online meetings, in person events, share information and try to support each other.

 

Last, but not least, we strive to work together for charitable causes.  This is a group and/or individual effort but no one is pressured to participate.  There’s the Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Salvation Army Angel Tree, to name a few.
